The new round of Positive Pathways is now open. Further details are at: https://covenantfund.org.uk/programme/positive-pathways/
There will be two rounds of the programme this year, but funding will be restricted to one-year grants of £35k for projects. The first round closes at noon on 25 Aug and the second round closes on 30 Nov. To be eligible to apply, your organisation must be an Armed-Forces-supporting charity or CIC and it is also recommended that you read the detailed guidance for this programme where other requirements are highlighted. Veteran-led charities and CICs are encouraged to make contact with ideas for projects in the 4 key areas.
Veterans’ Champions are asked to advertise this information widely to eligible organisations in their areas who can show evidence of being experienced in working with veterans.
Previous Positive Pathway funding enabled the employment of the 2 Navigator posts to facilitate the expansion and evaluation of the Positive Pathways programme and further activity based opportunities for veterans in NI, as well as:
An expansion of Nature based therapy programmes at Brooke House in Enniskillen and Ashes to Gold in Coleraine.
Veterans gym facilities and sports and wellbeing Hub in Londonderry.
Further expansion of the Millburn Men’s Shed and allotment project in Coleraine.
Veterans Water Access Project at Lough Erne Yacht Club.
A pan-NI Veterans Music based project ‘Mind the Pipes and Drums’ sponsored by WWTW .
Further details of any of the projects currently underway and how to access them can be obtained from the NIVSO or the Navigators – Dennis ( sport and outdoors) and Laura ( art, culture and heritage).
